Rochester:  February 28, 2015.  Elizabeth “Betty” Bell, an avid gardener with ten green thumbs and two green toes, wanted to get to the Philadelphia Flower Show (PFS); however, her 90 year old body was no longer up to it! For years, her body has not been up to much and holding her back from: gardening, flower arranging, exhibiting, winning ribbons, and remembering.… At 4am on Saturday, February 28 (opening day of PFS 2015), Betty and her body parted ways! Her love, creativity, thankfulness and sense of humor shall be honored and remembered by: her children (Bobby, Liz, Kathy, David and Doug); their spouses (Laurie, Tansy, Ned, Kathie and Beth); her grandchildren (Anna, Leigh, Martin, Francesca, Derrik and Sophie); her great-grandchild (Amaya); her nephews and niece (Bill, Bob, Donny and Ruthie), their families, and all her many cherished friends.

After the PFS, Betty will be off to the beach! Gathered there, awaiting her arrival, are her previously departed loves: her husband (Frank); her sister, brother-in-law and their eldest daughter (Dorothy, Don and Julie); her parents (Ruth and Robert); the Allentown great-aunties (Mary, Lily and Elsie); her Grampa Moyer, et al. Free at last!

A Memorial Celebration will be held at 7 p.m. on April 19 at The Shire, 2515 Culver Road, Rochester, 14609. An Internment Service of Remembrance will take place in Phoenixville, PA later in the summer.

Memorial Donations can be sent to Betty’s 24/7 companion: WXXI 280 State Street, Rochester, NY 146134. Thank you Mom for being you — here’s “To a Wild Rose.” Now “Onward! Christian Soldier!”
