Rochester, NY – On October 11, 2021 Alexander Jacob Harding, age 32, passed from this earth and into the arms of Jesus after a long journey with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife, Kaitlin (Farnsworth); their children Aaron, James, Raina, and Eden; his parents Willard and Faith Harding; his brother Joshua (Sarah McKinney) Harding and sister Robin Harding; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, all whom he loved dearly.
Al grew up in Williamson, NY and was very involved in church and boy scouts, later becoming an Eagle Scout. He achieved his bachelor’s degree and MSW from Roberts Wesleyan College and for the last 8 years worked for the Veterans Crisis Line.
Al was most at home spending time with family and friends (preferably around a campfire) engaging in discussions about life and faith. Any activity he was involved with was only worthwhile for him if he had a community to share it with. He loved God and his family more than anything, and leaves a legacy of profound faith for all who knew him.
Bill and I extend our sincerest condolences to you Kaitlin at the loss of your beloved Al. We know that these past years have been very difficult for you and the entire family. Be good to yourself in the coming days and weeks. Rest, love on the kids and receive all the love you can from them and all those around you, and most importantly, receive and give love from God! May His Holy Spirit surround you and wrap you in the greatest peace and comfort you could ever imagine and may you know His presence in a special way. We love you and will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. We were going to attend the service, but have been exposed to potential Covid and have not had our tests yet. Blessings to you and all the family…..love, Linda and Bill
sending prayers of light and love to Alex and his family
Dear Kaitlin. I did not know Alex but I do know you. And I know from all you said about Al while we worked together that he must have been a very special man. I know how in love you have been with him and will continue to carry his love with you.
My heart breaks for you and your beautiful family but I do know that you are a very strong faith filled woman.
I know that you are well loved by all who know you and I believe that together with Our Lord, Al will be watching over you and your children always. 🙏
So sorry to learn of Al’s passing. From the moment I met Al on the Hotline I knew he had a heart of gold. His warmth and kindness was infectious. He struck me as an old fashioned gentleman in a modern world. We were all blessed to know him and share what little time we did with him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. I know he will be watching over your Family.
I worked with Al on overnights for three years. Al was extremely kind, compassionate, and funny! His sense of humor would lighten our heaviest days. Al and I shared some great conversations that I will forever cherish in my heart. Whenever he would come back from vacation or leave, I would say, “Al, we missed you!” He would have the biggest smile on his face and reply, “Mo, it’s good to be missed.” My prayers, thoughts, and sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. Al will truly be missed.
