Audrey Adams Follmer passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 30, 2022
(July 11, 1936-January 30, 2022)
Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Bob Follmer. Survived by her children; Gretchen (Jesse predeceased) Follmer Anthony, Gary (Mary) Follmer and Andrew “Drew” Follmer, her brother Lester “Les” Adams, grandchildren; Adam (Kelly) Follmer, Caleb (Rachel) Follmer and Rachel Anthony & Great grandson Micah Hunsicker, many cousins and an adopted mom to the Baize family.
Audrey actively filled the role of daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and most importantly a friend, with warmth, caring and humor. She grew from a precocious little redheaded girl, onto an active fun-loving young person and later into a woman of good common sense peppered with humor and love for us all. She was always respectful of our feelings and dreams, wanting nothing more than to support us in whatever we were doing.
For many years she owned her own upholstery business in the 19th Ward and taught upholstery classes at night through the Greece Central School Continuing Ed. Later her work days were with ARC of Monroe County as a job coach for adults with disabilities.
Volunteer hours were spent in a variety of ways over her lifetime. These included being an usher for the Community Players, as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, working the Fringe Festival and ushering at Nunsense. She also counseled couples with her husband.
Downtime was spent with several quilt groups including Genesee Valley Quilters & Perinton Quilters Guild. Her hands crocheted afghans, sewed quilts and knit mittens for countless children. She and Bob enjoyed camping well into their 70s and after that vacationing in the Adirondacks.
Audrey loved her family, friends, hugs and a good Manhattan at the end of the day and is missed by us all.
Memorial Service will be Sunday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the West Lodge in Mendon Ponds Park.

Audrey was one of the finest people I ever knew. May her memory be eternal.
Greetings Jim,
Tried to reach out to you via the email address in Mom’s address book but it bounced back. Could you shoot me an email at gretchena720@gmail.com
Audrey was a delightful person. Her smile could always warm and uplift me.
Audrey always greeted you with a smile. Our neighborhood Sunday breakfasts prepandemic were memorable! May she Rest In Peace.
I remember her, Gretchen, when we would stop at the house during our own visits. She was full of life and clearly loved her family and friends with all of heart.
I know you have followed in her footsteps with the same love of life and of the people in it. Now, she’s with her Beloved, Bob. Lots to catch up on!
Maybe she’s blowing spit bubbles with joy!
Sending you love, along with my heartfelt sympathy,
(Your 19th Ward buddy!)
Thanks Jill for reaching out. Been wondering how you are and what you’re up to, but couldn’t find your contact info. Call, email or text me please @ gretchena720@gmail.com or 585-328-2488.
Audrey set an example for me. A remarkable woman.
The 19th Ward has suffered a great loss with the passing of Bob and now Audrey Follmer. Both such giving and kind people. So sorry for your loss.
Audrey was my son-in-laws Grandma. She welcomed Kelly (my daughter) with open arms right away.
As soon as I met her, she was a lovely lady and I felt like I’d known her forever. Her smile could light up a room. She is sorely missed by all whom have known her! Take care, love Valerie
Audrey was a member of my Bereavment group. We had so many laughs . We laughed at her pink hair or blue hair.. A very lovely person. She will be missed.
Hi Gretchen,
I sent you an e-mail; haven’t heard back. I hope it went through.
Battling Covid, so I’m laid low. If you can, send me an e-mail message.
Hope to connect…
Love,
Jill
