So sorry to read of his passing. He was my Vice Principal at Greece Olympia (class of 82). Always smiling, always encouraging, always fair. He impacted a lot of lives. A bright light has left this world for sure. Sending love to his family.
He was always smiling and upbeat as my Athena principal. He always cared and stayed involved with school activities. He did a great job.
This is so very sad!!! Mr.Ives put up with me and my hooligan friends at Athena for so long!!!! He was always so very sweet and kind no matter what trouble I was in!!! He knew I had potential and he wanted, well begged me to use it!!!! Rest easy sir! You were the BEST principal ever!!!!!
We miss him so much! Rich and Molly are our best friends…so many wonderful memories! Our children grew up together across the street from each other. We had great fun at the condo in Cherry Grove and so many laughs together though out the years! He put up a courageous fight and is at peace. Love you both!
Peace to your family Mr. Ives. May they find comfort knowing how many lives you touched during your career. When I think of you I will always smile and treasure the fond memories of working in your office at Athena for my business credits. Always a smile and encouraging words for all. May God welcome you with open arms and bless your family in the days ahead.
Dear Molly,
I am so saddened to learn of Dick’s passing. I enjoyed so much working with him at Greece. We worked on several committees together over the years. He was bright, articulate and passionate about his work with children, teachers and his colleagues. I feel your loss and appreciate the value of the space left that will keep memories and feelings safe and enjoyed by you and your family. Wishing you peace and comfort in knowing that we, who know you, care and pray for you as the days and nights greet you in friendly ways…..Bill Clicquennoi

I was in his home room at Athena , he was a great guy and you could always count on being treated with respect by Mr. Ives. The world would be a better place if there were more like him.
Just heard of Dicks passing and am very saddened. Dick and I were friends and grew up together in Roxbury, NY in the 40s and 50s. He was a good guy for sure and he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Buddy! John Townsend
