Janice E. Marx-Davidson passed away peacefully August 27th, 2022 from pancreatic cancer. Jan is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harry Davidson Jr., sons Aaron Davidson (Debbie) and Evan Davidson, mother Gladys Marx, sister Susan (William) Holt and predeceased by her father Henry Marx.
She loved and was loved by her life long friends Laurel, Dale and Carol, dear friends Jodi (Tom), Lynn (Pat), aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, in-laws, and her many other friends. All of their well being was very dear to Jan.
Jan graduated from Bryant and Stratton College. She enjoyed a career in corporate travel, as an agent and an account manager.
A budding artist in her youth, later in life, beginning with encouragement and help from her beloved cousin Ann Jurgens and then others, Jan became a successful artist in watercolors and oil paint.
The immediate family will have a private celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a small donation to Rochester’s animal shelter ‘Animal Service Center’, where she found her beloved Rottweiler, Sophie.

Jan was a fine woman. She put her all into everything she did. She was my dear friend and I miss her every day!
All of us at Pittsford Art group send our condolences.
Jan was on more board for a while and she contributed so much to the group through good times and hard.We had lost touch with her after she left the group. I have a lot of wonderful memories with Jan and I can still remember her laugh it was contagious! I’m so sad to learn of her passing she will be missed in the art community and her friendship was appreciated so much.. She was very private about her illness I never really new how much she was suffering. Jan always had a great opinion and I miss our long conversations. RIPeace Jan
I will miss my very dear friend, Jan, of 55 years so very much. She was always a shining star, so warm and full of life. It was great that she rekindled her love of art and developed into such a fine artist again the last several years of her life. Steve and I give you our deep sympathy at your loss, Harry, Aaron, and Evan. Her love of life, her family and friends, was deep and true. She will be in my heart forever.
Harry and family, so sorry to see this. So much loss.
My heart hurts for you all. I knew her well during time at the NYS Figure Study Guild. And she was very supportive when I had to move my studio. I will miss her.
I cannot express how heartbroken I am. Jan had been working at my store for a couple of years and her artwork hangs in my window. My customers thought the world of her as well. She became a good friend and I will miss her terribly.
I’d like to thank everyone for their thoughts and memories of Jan. She was a remarkable companion.
Harry
