Brockport, NY: December 15, 2022 at age 86.
Carol is predeceased by parents Edwin and Mabelle (Donovan) Drake, husband Kenneth Rice and brothers, Alfred and William Drake. She is survived by children Craig (Grace), Christopher (Linda), Kendra (Robert) Greeley, Kerri (Bill) Cybulski. She was the grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 11. She had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved her dearly and was a spiritual mother to many others.
In her life she was an art, piano, music and preschool teacher. She graduated from Bob Jones University with a bachelor’s degree in Art. She enjoyed playing piano, reading, arts and crafts, studying the Bible and participating in church events.
She was the heart of our family, providing love and support to everyone, keeping connections strong and creating a loving atmosphere where all, even those not part of the family, were welcome. She was known as a true prayer warrior, praying for children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others. You could always count on her to start a prayer chain when needs arose.
Due to the Northeaster storm and the damages sustained to the Christ Community Church in Brockport, NY, the service scheduled for Dec 30th is canceled. Services are still going to be scheduled for New Jersey, in the Spring, at the convenience of the family, where she will be buried at Restland Memorial Park, in East Hanover, NJ with her parents and husband.
Chris, Linda and family, may you take comfort in all your precious memories and the knowledge that she loves you always and will watch over you all with love and pride! Hugs to all

My heart is filled with wonderfully, happy memories of being at your home – sitting around the kitchen table laughing together with your mom, or singing around the piano. Carol wore her heart on her sleeve. I’m glad we had Facebook to stay connected. I’m so grateful for that fateful day your mom packed all of you kids in the car and showed up at Brooklake. A week later your dad was there. I miss those days a lot and think of them often. God bless all of you! .
Craig, Chris, Kendra and Kerri and families: so very sorry for the loss of your mother, mother-in- law and grandmother. You all have been in my thoughts and prayers. Susan
