Bernard “Bernie” L. Brock, loving father, grandfather and brother, age 73, of Mt. Morris NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18th, 2023 at Strong Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born the son of Richard “Big Bernie” & Betty Brock of Wadsworth, on November 14, 1949 in Batavia NY.
Bernie is predeceased by his parents Bernie & Betty Brock. Bernie is survived by his partner Kathleen Bailey; his children, Bernard “Little Bernie” of Nevada, Shaun (Heidi), James, Andrew, Cassandra and Nicholas; his grandchildren Mercedez and Kellen; his eight siblings, Richie (Mary Kay) of Wadsworth, Rose Engelbert of Piffard, Patricia Cole of Wadsworth, Jerry (Cindy) of Livonia, Linda (Ross) Boor of Piffard, Donna (Dawn) of Conesus, Diane (Terry) Joyce of Florida, Cheryl McConnell of Wadsworth and many loving nieces and nephews.
Bernie, the middle child of nine brothers and sisters, worked as a carpenter & dry wall finisher alongside of his family until he retired. He was a very easy-going person with a kind, loving heart and a fantastic sense of humor. Bernie enjoyed the simple things in life. Such as his LOVE of coffee, coffee, coffee AND donuts. Bernie also enjoyed Bingo, playing poker & lotto and watching sports…especially the Yankees! He also enjoyed fishing, cook outs and just being outdoors with family and friends.
If you knew Bernie well guaranteed you have a great comical story to share. His brother & sisters have several. Like when he was much younger his brothers loading him into a baby buggy and sending him skyward off of a ramp. Or the time he was shot from a great distance in the chest with a potato cannon! Such boisterous fun and hysterical hijinks, this is how we will remember Bernie. Always laughing and joking and just enjoying life. He will be dearly missed.
There will be a mass at the Abbey of the Genesee in Piffard, NY. Additionally, a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for his family members.
