Roger Kevin Case - Rochester Cremation

Rochester, New York:  Roger Kevin Case, 62, passed away after a struggle with declining health in the early morning hours on June 30, 2023 while in Hospice care at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Roger was born on July 22, 1960 to Roger and Irene Case in Rochester, NY. Growing up in the 19th Ward of Rochester, Roger became an active member of his neighborhood, spending most of his childhood and teenage days running around the city and enjoying life. Some of his fond childhood memories were riding bikes around with his friends, starring in Jesus Christ Superstar and dancing with his friends and sisters.

Roger loved swimming. He was a regular fish out of water. This pastime eventually became a sport for Roger and began to compete in various races and dives. During his time he was one of the best swimmers in Rochester. He graduated from Aquinas in 1978. Roger joined the United States Navy after graduating for an opportunity to see the world which inspired his love of traveling. During his service, he was stationed on Nuclear Submarines, most notably the USS Kamehameha. Roger left the Navy in 1982.

Roger thoroughly enjoyed making art as one of his passions and hobbies. Anyone who knew him can attest to the skill and talent he put into his artwork. His pieces were expressions of himself, and he was more than happy to share that with anyone who was interested.

Roger also was an avid Golfer. He spent many years out on the links looking trying to better himself from the last round. Roger got to enjoy the game with family, friends and sometimes strangers who needed a fourth. His quick wit and penchant for joking around made him an easy person to get along with and made for lasting and loving friendships.

Roger is survived by his children John (grandchildren John, Alyssa, Lucas, Liam and Vincent), Alyson (Ryan Powers & grandson Archer), Benjamin and Marcus. Along with his sisters Kim (Dave Jones) and Julie (Glenn VanDerwater), as well as his nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents Roger and Irene Case as well as his sister Christine Webster.

A Memorial Service will be held for Roger at the Fairport Village Inn (103 N Main St, Fairport, NY14450) between 12pm and 3pm. In lieu of Flowers, please consider making a small contribution to the Humane Society.
