It is with great sadness that the family of Diana M. Howard Spencer, 64, of Farmington, NY announce her passing on July 30, 2023.
Diana was born on December 3, 1958, in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Margaret (D’Agostino) and Franklin Howard, who predeceased her. They soon moved to Watertown, NY where Diana was raised with her four inseparable siblings: Rosemary Scudera, Cheryl Schloop Hansen, Franklin Howard II, and David Howard.
In 1986, Diana married her husband of 34 years, Craig V. Spencer who also predeceased her. Together they lovingly raised two children in Watertown, NY before relocating to Port Charlotte, FL where she became a dedicated member of D3 Church.
Diana is survived by her children, Christopher Day (Anna Day) and Melissa Gonzalez (Juan Gonzalez, Jr.); her grandchildren SRA Nikolai Wakey, Dasani Prideaux, Alexci Gonzalez, Juan Gonzalez III, Caiden Day and Madison Day, and many loved nieces and nephews.
While we grieve Diana’s loss, we are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her sweet spirit. We invite you to join us at a Celebration of Life Ceremony taking place at Rochester Cremation, 1118 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY on Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you do a kind deed for someone else, or donate to an animal shelter, as it is what Diana would have done with her great affection for people and animals. She was a woman of strong faith and lived a life serving others so please help us continue that kindness in her honor. Anytime you hear a wind chime on your journeys through life, we hope that you think of Diana, smile, and know that she is with us in spirit and peace.
I was so sad to hear about Diana. We have been friends since childhood and as adults. My thoughts are with the family during this time. Memories will get you through and make you smile again. Love, Andrea & Bill Decillis.
We lost touch when Diane moved away, but we reconnected through FB many years later. How nice it was to hear her say “there you are! I’ve been looking for you!”..I felt exactly the same. Her laugh and her sense of humor hadn’t changed in all of those years.
I know that Diane had a strong faith, she expressed her love for her family many times, and is now with the family that passed before her.
Rest easy, my friend, with your loved ones.
Diane I still can’t believe that you are gone! We had a pretty special bond like soul sisters! Even though you’re gone, I know that you are finally with the love of your life Craig and your Mom and Dad! You had such a sweet giving heart and loved with all you had! You always expressed how much you loved your family. I will miss you my friend for all the days of my like! Love Ann
My heart is so sad for all of the family. Knowing Diana since she was 3 years old, she has one of the most beautiful hearts and souls. Diana was a believer, whose faith never wavered. I know she’s reunited with Craig and her parents now. She will always be remembered and loved.
