JACQUELINE DENISE MENEY was born on January 7,1964 in Rochester, New York is the first of two daughters born to Raymond K. and Mildred Session Meney. She was raised up from childhood a member of Emmanuel Temple Church, 85 Prospect Street under Elder Joseph Lacey where she was baptized. Elder Lacey involved and trained even the children to work in church. A picture was taken of her helping to lay bricks and mortar during some of the church’s early renovation stages.
Necie graduated from Greece Olympia High School. She also graduated from the Educational Opportunity Center. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and was well loved by her clients. She attended Monroe Community College and completed coursework towards a Business Degree. Niece enjoyed serving and helping people. She felt her calling in life was to provide outstanding care to children and adults, especially the elderly; to do so with compassion and tender-loving care. In fact, her last job was giving this same kind of love and compassionate care to her 94 year old Aunt Geneva. Jacqueline also worked at Unique Hats & Wigs Shop and at Milly’s Beauty Salon where excellent customer service skills were demonstrated on a daily basis. Jacqueline had just recently received her Security Guard License.
Jacqueline was first married to Nichols Williams. Following this marriage, Jacqueline eventually moved from Rochester to Schenectady, New York along with the two young children to which she had become mother, Robert and Taliesa Evans. In Schenectady is where She met and later married Broderick Scales. To this union was born Ebony Monique Scales. In the passing of much time, Jacqueline and the children moved back to Rochester. Throughout the many challenges and struggles in her life, Jacqueline never gave up her faith in God and her desire and hope for a better life for herself and her children. The theme song of her life was “Thank You Lord For All That You Have Done for Me.” As a member of Unique Ministries Church, pastored by Bishop Mildred Session Meney, she loved leading and participating in the praise and worship services. Jacqueline was a true shopaholic. Jacqueline was always the finder of the best sales in town. If she found a pair of shoes on sale, she would buy one of every color. She would call everybody and tell them what was on sale and where. The trunk of her car was always filled with the bargain sales she found. Not only did she like to shop, but to dress herself as pretty and glitzy as possible. Her eyelashes, fancy finger and toes to match were trademarks. She also enjoyed cooking her ‘more than enough’ big meals.
Jacqueline departed this life at the age of 60, leaving to cherish her life, her daughter Ebony Monique (Terrell ), Beloved children: Robert and Taliesa Evans. Special grandchildren Tania Evans and Paul Michael Adell. Mother, Bishop Mildred Session Meney, Sister Lisa Louise Meney, Aunts: Barbara Singleton, Debbie (Wendell ) Smith, Linda (David ) Blake, Uncles: Josh, Jerry and Donald Session (Regina). Special cousins, Veronica Singleton, Shanice and Eddie Henry, Kierra Taylor, Aaron Session, Danielle Sherman, Tyler Singleton, Bobby Hopson Jr. and Herbert Eady, and Josh and Caleb Session and Special Aunt Beverly Blue. And a host, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends. Predeceased in death by Father: Raymond K. Meney. Maternal Grandparents: Josh & Bessie Session, Paternal grandparents William and Claudet Meney. Aunt: Geraldine Session, Uncles: Tillman and William Meney. Cousin Yolanda Marie Singleton.
