In Memory of James F. Catlin
James F. Catlin, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud Air Force veteran, passed away on October 4, 2023, at 91. James is predeceased by his beloved wife, Maureen P. Catlin, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, memories and traveling, and brothers Donald (Helen) Catlin, Edward (Louise) Catlin and Earl Catlin.
Jim is survived by his two sons, Patrick (Lynn) Catlin and Timothy (Kim) Catlin, and three daughters, Maura Phillips, Kyle Catlin, and Siobhan (John) Vandervoort, his sisters, Virginia Townsend, and Audrey Catlin, sister-in laws, Evelyn Catlin, and Regina (Dolly) Ingay, eight grandchildren and 12 great grand children,
A proud patriot, Jim served in the United States Air Force, defending his country with honor. Following his military service, he dedicated his time volunteering at the Sampson Air Force Museum, where he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm for aviation history with others. Jim will be remembered for his commitment to his country, and his dedication to preserving the history of the United States Air Force. Jim also volunteered at the Ronald Mc Donald house and Lollipop Farm giving back to his community.
Beyond his service and volunteering, Jim was an avid and unwavering supporter of the New York Yankees, cheering them on through every season and milestone.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Legacy at The Grande Vie, Villagewood building with the white Porch on October 15, 2023, from 3PM to 5PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Honor Flight Rochester, Inc.@ www.HonorFlightRochester.org or Lollypop Farm @ www.lollypop.org in his honor.
