Brighton: Suddenly August 20, 2015, at age 63.He is survived by his wife Karen Schmidt, son Andrew, step-son and daughter-in law Richard and Wendy Sisson and their son Liam to whom he was “ Grandpa B.” Also survived by his father Andrew, sister Emilie (Emil) Novotny and their children Stephen (Brenda) Novotny and grandson Myles and Jonathan (Kelly) Novotny of Ontario, Canada. He was predeceased by his mother Emilia.
Bobby grew up in Toronto and was a Canadian Junior B Marlies hockey player and Canadian Junior golf player. He went to the University of Houston (TX) on a golf scholarship and returned to Toronto to play in a band and work for a sound studio. He then worked for the speaker company Raven and designed the ribbon speaker. Wanting to design for his own company, he moved to Rochester, NY and founded Merlin Music at Paul Heath Audio. In 1991, he incorporated Merlin Music Systems and moved the company to Hemlock, NY. He became a globally-known design engineer and manufacturer of speakers in the high-end audio market.
Please join Bobby’s family and friends on Sunday, September 27th, from 1-4 PM for a Celebration party at the Donnan Farm, 2255 Cowan Road in Piffard, NY. Bobby preferred jeans and sneakers, so dress is casual!
