Canandaigua NY: December 21, 2015. Born in Liverpool, N.Y., Kirk was the son of the late Carlton and Ruth Sprague. Kirk graduated from Port Byron High School and joined the U.S. Navy. Kirk was an artist and spent much of his time drawing and painting. Through a program at the Veteran’s Hospital in Canandiagua, Kirk practiced his art with the assistance of tutors, books, supplies and competitions. Kirk also enjoyed puzzles.
Kirk is survived by his two children, Mathew with his wife Katherine (nee: Ferguson), and Janine with her husband Peter Brown, their mother Elizabeth, his grandchildren Wrenn and Asher Sprague, as well as his brothers Lance and his wife Patricia and Kevin and his wife Susan.
A Memorial Service is planned for Summer 2016 at the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Romulus, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Kirk to the Recreation Program at the Canandaigua Veterans Hospital.
