Rochester NY: Age 82, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 after a short illness. He was born in Rochester, NY on June 23, 1933 to Rose and Joseph Baranowski. Gerry was a special person who had developmental disabilities and who lived the last decades of his life in ARC of Monroe County group homes.
Gerry was a smiling and inquisitive person who became a joy to all who lived or worked with him. He made friends by walking up to people asking them to “shake my hand”. He made everyone feel welcome. He delighted in the company of everyone he met.
Gerry is survived by his loving and devoted brother Joseph F. Baranowski and cousins Brian, Paul and Susan Mills, as well as numerous other cousins. Beside family, he leaves hundreds of friends, many with whom he lived and worked, all of whom will sorely miss Gerry.
A “Celebration of Life” gathering of friends and family will be held at Brighton Town Park, Carmen Clark Lodge, 777 Westfall Road, Rochester, on March 21 2016 from 5pm to 7pm. The ARC of Monroe County will also hold a “Remembrance” of Gerry on March 25, 2016 at 9:45 am at Ballantyne Day Services, 10 Ballantyne Rd.
