Rochester NY: May 12, 2016. Lisa J. Bodenstedt, 56, died suddenly at her home. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Jack and Jean Perretti of Winsted, CT and her aunt, Patricia Lagan. She will forever be remembered and loved by her husband, Jim Bodenstedt, her sister, Leslie Perretti, her uncle, Larry Lagan, cousins, CJ Lagan and wife, Trudy Lagan, Jamie Lagan, aunt, Joan Cooper, beloved friend, Binns Handy, the many work colleagues and friends at the University of Rochester, RIT, The Good Book Store, the Sisters of Mercy, Isaiah House, and her faith community at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church.
Lisa was a devoted wife and dog lover, a creative graphic designer, an excellent teacher, a caregiver for the dying, a loyal, funny, and witty friend, a coffee maker at church, and an unapologetic anglophile. She felt called to the spirit that all are welcomed at God’s table. She strove to live her life as if every Christmas was her last one, and each day, Easter. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to smile and laugh along with her.
Family and friends, work colleagues, spiritual journeyers with Lisa – everybody is welcome to celebrate Lisa’s life on Friday, May 20th at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas’, 2000 Highland Avenue, Rochester, NY.
Contributions in Lisa’s memory may be made to Isaiah House Inc., providing compassionate care for the dying, 71 Prince St., Rochester, NY 14605 (theisaiahhouse.org).
