Gates, NY: August 5, 2016. Died suddenly with loving family and friends beside her. Predeceased by her mother Joyce K. Mitchell. Survived by her father, Richard W. Mitchell; partner Matthew Sciera; siblings, brother David (Tami) Mitchell; sisters, Kim (Robert) DiLuglio and Amy Mitchell (John) Freeman; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Marion Cemetery.

I am so sad to read this. Being the Mitchells neighbor on Ogden Parma back in our youth I have such great memories of Melissa as a very young girl. My thoughts are with the entire family.

We always think that we have so much time, and yet, none of us knows what our appointed span will be! Melissa’s was so much less than we hoped for. Her soul has flown from the bonds of this earthly home. May she find freedom and joy as she continues on her heavenly journey.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Melissa. We have some memories of her but only as a child. Wendy keeps us up to date. We sure miss the times the Mitchell’s and Murphy’s were together.
