Edward Joseph Minardo

Rochester NY: Edward Joseph Passed peacefully on August 16, 2016 at the age of 92.  He was born on August 14, 1924 in Rochester, NY to the late Cezare “John” & Rosario (Recuprio) Minardo.

He is predeceased by wives; Arletta (Dillon) Minardo, Marie (Battaglia) Minardo, and Ruth Bisig.  As the last of 9 siblings, Ed was predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Mike (Laura) Minardo, Sam (Kay) Minardo, Mary (Sam) Prinzi, Lillian (Angelo) Fiorenza, Joseph (Romaine) Minardo, Frank (Ruth) Minardo, Evelyn (Americo “Matty”) Monti, John (Stella) (Terry) Minardo.

He is survived by his wife Jean Petrucci and children; Judith Minardo, Marylou (Walt) Sadler, James (Suzanne) Minardo, Edward (Kathleen) Minardo; Grandchildren, Nicole (Jose) De Los Santos, Corey Minardo (Theresa Zollo), Amy (Andrew) Merkel, Luke Minardo; Great Grandchildren LCpl John Lyons, Brooklyn and Emiliana De Los Santos; Sister in law Mary Minardo; in addition to many beloved nieces & nephews, great nieces and nephews.]

Ed was a simple hard working man who lived life to the fullest. He was a devoted and loving spouse, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He was an avid golfer, swimmer and scuba diver. His passion for travel, family and photography will be with us all always. He lived a good life and was well loved by his family and friends. He has now been welcomed by the rest of his family and friends in heaven.

There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 10, 2016 at 10 AM in the All Seasons Chapel at Whitehaven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534. A celebration of his life and buffet reception will follow immediately after the service.

A very special Thank you to Dr. Timothy Quill and the 4th floor Staff at Strong Memorial Hospital’s Palliative Care unit for the comfort, care and support to our family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Palliative Hospice 412 unit at Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Avenue Box 650, Rochester, NY 14642.

    He was my Dad. I was so blessed to have him in my life. He gave me family & lots of love. Thanks Dad for saving me. I will never forget how you cared for all of us. Mary lou Jim & Eddie were gifts to me again I thank you. Love you Dad & you will be greatly missed xoxo

    My father was a great man who did everything he could to meet his children together. He worked hard to make sure we had a good education. Loved his brothers and sisters and their families. We will miss you, but know you are watching over us. Love you Dad.

    You were a wonderful grandfather to me and amazing father to ur four children. You lived live to the fullest and I will cherish all the memories u gave to us for the past 92 years. Your warm smile ad hugs will surely be missed. However I will always have u in my heart. I am blessed to have you as my grandfather and I am so glad u got to see me marry my best friend andy.     Eddie was only a co-worker with my dad st Kodak a best friend. They always enjoyed being together and spending time at their trailers at Double DD Campground. My parents and his wife would attend Kodak events and parties together. He will be greatly missed. Dad will be happy to see him. My thoughts & prayers to Jean and his children.
