Brighton NY (formerly from Irondequoit): Harry passed peacefully on October 17, 2016 at age 90. He was born February 26, 1926 in Berlin, Germany and emigrated to the US at age 2. He grew up in Syracuse NY and attended Syracuse University (BS), Stanford University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MS). During WWII, he served in the Army. After a 38-year career as a mechanical design engineer at Kodak, he retired in 1986. Harry is survived by his wife Diana of 64 years, 3 daughters (Kathy, Linda, and Betsy), 5 grandchildren (Colleen, Renee, Lisa, Colin, and Ryan), and 1 great granddaughter (Nora).
Harry loved gardening, reading, and crosswords. He was known for his wry sense of humor and love of music. He was creative (woodworking, stained glass, and hooked rugs) and athletic (tennis, badminton, and skiing). He was a life-time learner, taking classes including Shakespeare at the Athenaeum (Osher) and German at Oasis. He and Diana loved traveling—visiting many countries as well as various parts of the US.
His Memorial Service is on October 22 at 2 pm at Irondequoit United Church of Christ, 644 Titus Ave, where he was an active member for over 60 years.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in his honor to the church memorial fund.

Dear Diana & family,
We would like to extend our deepest Sympathy to you. You were always together for different functions. Your loss is
profound. He was a very talented man; Peter respected him
highly at Kodak. May you find strength in the good memories.
