Geneva, NY: Mark Evan Johnson, 60 , died at Rochester General Hospital on August 22 , 2019 .

Mark was born March 27, 1959 in Buffalo, NY. He spent his childhood and school years with his family in Newark, NY. He graduated from Newark High School in 197 7.

Mark went to Alfred University and graduated in 1987. He moved to Buffalo and attended SUNY Buffalo School of Architecture and graduated in 1991.

Mark was a talented musician and played in various bands two of which were The Red Gills, and The Billy Baroo Jazz Trio.

He was a master woodworker and created many items including kayaks, canoes, guitars, drums, and many furniture items.

Mark was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and kayaking with frie n ds. His home for the p ast 10 years was in Geneva, NY surrounded by woods and wildlife.

He had many hobbie s that he took pride in mastering. His past hobbies included photography, building a nd racing go-carts, building and flying model airplanes. He was a member of the Finger Lakes Air Pirates and had many friends there.

Mark is survived by his loving parents, Dr. Neal and Roxanne Johnson, two brothers Clark (Sharon) Johnson, Kirk (Rose) Johnson, one sister Kendra Johnson, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many very dear friends.

There will be a Celebration of Mark’s Life on Saturday, August 31st at 11:00am at The Family Life Center next to Calvary Church, 835 Peirson Ave, Newark. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
