Albert (Al) W. Donovan

Al’s family is sad to announce that on March 27, 2025 he passed away after a short stay at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center. He is survived by: his wife Grace; his children, Bill Donovan and Sue Gay (Tim); his grandchildren, Becky and Brian Gay, Brandon and Britney Donovan; his siblings, Skip Donovan (Carol) and Sue Donovan Prince. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by: his parents, Francis and Althea Donovan (Spangler);his sister, Phyllis Wright (Lloyd) and his daughter in law, Donna Donovan.

Al was a graduate of Hilton Central School. He worked many years in the tool and die trade before retiring from his employment with New York State. He was probably best known for his lawn mower business, Donovan’s Mower Service, that he ran out of his home in Spencerport. He enjoyed working on small engines and repaired, serviced and sold lawn mowers to many loyal customers throughout Monroe and Orleans counties. He was an avid dog lover and always had a dog working in the lawn mower shop with him. He had many dogs throughout the years and his current canine companion, Sunshine, was with him at the time of his passing. He will be missed by everyone who had the joy to love him.
