ANTHONY T. BARBUTO
May 7, 1952 – November 2, 2021
Anthony “Tony” Thomas Barbuto passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home in Webster, NY on November 2, 2021 at the age of 69.
Born on May 7, 1952, Tony was raised in Watervliet, NY and lived most of his life in the Albany/Rensselaer county area. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree at SUNY Albany and worked as a research scientist at General Electric Research and Development Center in Schenectady, NY for 29 years. Tony was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Watervliet, NY for many years, as well as an Assistant Scout Master to Troop 162, Latham, NY.
During his five blissful years of retirement, Tony enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and sunny winters in Florida with his friends at Pierpoint. His favorite hobbies included golfing, walking on the beach and traveling.
Tony is predeceased by his parents Charles “Carl” and Helen Barbuto, siblings Robert “Bob” and William “Bill” Barbuto. He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Margaret “Maggie,” beloved children Tracey (Jack) Coultry and Scott (Anthony) Barbuto, grandchildren Oliver Aiden and Finnley Thomas Coultry, and granddogs Rori Coultry and Orin Barbuto. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Thank you to Dr. O’Dwyer and team, as well as the Strong Memorial Infusion Center team, for their compassionate care during Tony’s treatment. Tony was blessed with many special family members, friends and neighbors. Thank you to all for the love, support and prayers.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 27 th at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Road, Webster, NY 14580.
