Audrey Adams Follmer

d. January 30, 2022

Audrey Adams Follmer passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 30, 2022

(July 11, 1936-January 30, 2022)

Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Bob Follmer. Survived by her children; Gretchen (Jesse predeceased) Follmer Anthony, Gary (Mary) Follmer and Andrew “Drew” Follmer, her brother Lester “Les” Adams, grandchildren; Adam (Kelly) Follmer, Caleb (Rachel) Follmer and Rachel Anthony & Great grandson Micah Hunsicker, many cousins and an adopted mom to the Baize family.

Audrey actively filled the role of daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and most importantly a friend, with warmth, caring and humor. She grew from a precocious little redheaded girl, onto an active fun-loving young person and later into a woman of good common sense peppered with humor and love for us all. She was always respectful of our feelings and dreams, wanting nothing more than to support us in whatever we were doing.

For many years she owned her own upholstery business in the 19th Ward and taught upholstery classes at night through the Greece Central School Continuing Ed. Later her work days were with ARC of Monroe County as a job coach for adults with disabilities.

Volunteer hours were spent in a variety of ways over her lifetime. These included being an usher for the Community Players, as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, working the Fringe Festival and ushering at Nunsense. She also counseled couples with her husband.

Downtime was spent with several quilt groups including Genesee Valley Quilters & Perinton Quilters Guild. Her hands crocheted afghans, sewed quilts and knit mittens for countless children. She and Bob enjoyed camping well into their 70s and after that vacationing in the Adirondacks.

Audrey loved her family, friends, hugs and a good Manhattan at the end of the day and is missed by us all.

Memorial Service will be Sunday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the West Lodge in Mendon Ponds Park.
