Bill Radford

d. January 17, 2024

Bill passed peacefully on January 17, 2024 at age 79, after a long and courageous battle with a very rare, aggressive thyroid cancer. Throughout it all, Bill remained positive and selfless, exhibiting a quiet strength.

Bill grew up in Rochester NY. Following graduation from Jefferson High School and the Rochester Institute of Technology, he began his 35 year career with Eastman Kodak which was interrupted when he was called to serve in the US Army. While serving as a lieutenant in Vietnam, he was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism, as he led his platoon to safety, directing fire while aiding with the evacuation of the wounded. Along with his Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Clusters, he was the recipient of several other medals to recognize his bravery, leadership, compassion, and service.

Bill was predeceased by his loving parents, John and Ruth Radford. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lou (LeBoo) Radford; daughters, Karlie (Simon) Jessop, Meredith (Jason) Reynolds; grandchildren, Jon, Gwendolyn, Emma, Olivia, Charlotte and Lucie; great grandson Mylo; his twin sister, Jackie (John) Baumgartner; several loving nieces and nephews.

He was an avid sports fan excelling particularly in basketball, baseball, and soccer, with a true passion for golf. He was devoted to his wife, daughters and grandchildren, supporting each endeavor they pursued. Bill had a kind heart and gentle soul. Upon meeting him, he was able to elevate your mood instantly. His passing will leave an unfillable gap in the hearts of many.
