Rochester, NY – March 29, 2023 at the age of 65 after a 13 year battle with cancer.
He is predeceased by his parents Richard and Rose Marie Mathis, niece Kara Lea Hillier. Survived by siblings Edward (Patricia) Hillier, Kathleen Hillier Cropo, Timothy Mathis, Karen (Scott) Johnson, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, many close friends.
Daryl was a very special man. He was an avid sports fan and at a young age, he began to play sports. He played hockey and softball well into his middle age years. He enjoyed his yearly trip to the University of Notre Dame for a football weekend with his family and close friends. He loved music, traveling, watching sports, and being outdoors.
Most of all, he loved his family. Daryl was a beloved uncle to his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He was not only Uncle Daryl, he was their biggest supporter, and a treasured part of many special memories.
The family would like to thank Dr. Adrienne Victor and her entire URMC oncology team, The Aurora House of Monroe County in Spencerport.
Daryl’s Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, April 4th, 10:30 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd, Rochester, NY.
