David “Dave”Louis Esserine died October 27, 2024 at Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Mt. Morris , New York.
He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis Elaine (Brown) Esserine, his brother Ronald Esserine of Illinois, and parents Leigh Warren Esserine, and Clara May (Yancer) Esserine from Dansville, New
York. David is survived by his son Kenneth Robert Esserine, daughter Karen (Esserine) Elderkin and son-in-law Guy Elderkin Sr. Grandchildren Stewart Esserine , Branden Esserine , and Ruth
Elderkin, and great granddaughter Rozalynn Elderkin-Palmer. Nieces and nephews, and cousins.
He enjoyed a close relationship with his brother even when they both went into the service after high school. Dave joined the army and his brother joined the Airforce. After 60 days David was discharged for medical reasons. His favorite pastime was history and traveling, and everywhere he went , his camera was how he kept track. Eventually his enjoyment of history and travel became possible as a truck driver. Most of his trucking was in a 10 wheeler truck , and he loved to drive up until he retired at age 65. After that he worked for Green Thumb, Stony brook park during the
season and a companion program until 80 years old.
A Celebration of Life will be held November 23, 2024 for friends and family. It will be at Foursquare church , 49 west avenue, Dansville, New York. Please make donations to
