Passed away at the age of 59 after a four year battle with colon cancer. Predeceased by father John Mitchell. Survived by mother Joan Mitchell; wife of nearly 30 years Mary Ann; children Anthony, Elenie and Michael. Also survived by siblings Mark, Bradley (Elizabeth) and Terrie Beck (Norman); in-laws Robert/Linda Ciecierega, Barbara/Leonard Oleksy, Linda/Art Lipp, Peggy/Roger Papaj as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, neighbors and coworkers.

Dave was employed by the US Army Corps of Engineers as a geotechnical engineer. Although he retired in 2021, he worked part time in 2022 due to his passion for his career. Dave proudly served his country. Dave coached youth lacrosse and football when the children were young. He enjoyed golfing, kayaking, hiking, and traveling. Dave was a sports enthusiast and especially loved the Buffalo Bills, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the University of Pittsburgh Panthers.

The family would like to thank Highland Hospital and the University of Rochester Hospice team for their wonderful assistance in Dave’s final days. Thanks to all the University of Rochester staff for providing four years of diligent medical care.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Saturday 2/18/2023 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Irondequoit Country Club, 4045 East Ave, Rochester NY 14618. Ceremony begins at 11:30 AM. Refreshments will be provided. Casual dress is preferred, especially your favorite team sports attire. A box will be provided for submitting photographs and memories.
