David Rosenberg

d. June 8, 2020

Fairport, NY: June 8, 2020.  David’s passing at age 89 is a loss to many and he will be missed. He is survived by  “best friend” and “love of his life” wife Barbara Dwyer, son Scott and daughter-in-law Janet, daughter-in-law Ann Rose, step children Jeff Meyers (Stephanie) and Marnie Milidantri (Mark), grandsons Dan, Greg and Eli Rosenberg, Dominick and Jason Milidantri, Connor and Logan Meyers, kitties Emma and Sasha, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by son Bruce Rose, mother of his sons Joyce Rosenberg, sister Norma Osten and brother-in-law Sidney Osten.

David was very much a free spirit and lived his life in concert with the Frank Sinatra song, “My Way,” sporting a pony tail, jewelry and a single pierced earring after he turned 60.  He sold automobiles at Bob Hastings Oldsmobile for most of his career and made many lasting relationships with his colleagues. David met Barbara at the dealership, introducing himself to her in 1984 when she bought a new vehicle from another salesman. Even before they were married on Valentine’s Day in 1997, they had great fun, celebrated life and created many happy memories together. He loved and took great pride in the Fairport home they shared, enjoyed cooking and yes, even grocery shopping. He and Barbara always looked forward to their visiting a tropical island or sunny Mexico during winter months, just to kick back and enjoy life for a two weeks. David (sometimes called The Tan Man) was known by all to be a sun lover, and never was there a sunny day that was too cold or too hot for him to sit outside and work on his tan. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds and the remote control was never far from reach.

When his kidney disease warranted dialysis, he took it in stride and looked forward to going to treatments three times a week.  Never was he angry or depressed by the sickness and he was almost always ready to throw out a one-liner to surprise someone or make them laugh.

David enjoyed his long life and began looking forward to reaching 100 after he turned 88.  A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in his memory, please consider the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org) or a charity of your choice.
