David Schneider

David Schneider, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on March 18. He will be missed by his wife Cheryl Gioia, his three brothers James, Jerry and Dennis Schneider, his three children Allyn (Joseph) Canute, Katrina (Michael) Wagner, and David (Kathy) Schneider, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Dave grew up in Holland, NY. He actively served in the US Army for three years. He earned a degree in horticulture in 1961 from Alfred Ag and Tech, where he established what would become lifelong friendships with his Psi Delta Omega fraternity brothers. Dave spent his career pursuing his gift and passion for gardening. He managed stores for Harris/Moran and Harris Garden centers and eventually became a partner in the group that owned the stores.

In addition to being an avid gardener, Dave enjoyed travelling, fishing, hunting and cooking. And he adored his pets. A favorite pastime for him was watching the news with his beloved calico Tallulah.
