Eleanor Sica Niger

05/28/26 – 12/9/2022

Entered her eternal rest surrounded by her children on 12/9/2022 at St. Ann’s Nursing Home. Eleanor was born the 11th of 12 siblings. Her parents were Joseph and Carmella (Mauro) Sica, who both immigrated to Rochester, NY from Italy. Eleanor was an employee of Lincoln First/Chase Bank for 35 years before retiring. She was a single Mom and did a great job raising three children. She loved family get togethers, especially during the holidays. She was very devout in her Catholic faith and she had no problem telling others about how her faith and God helped her through some tough years and times. She was a devoted Mother determined to raise her children teaching them about faith, character, hard work, respect, integrity and love for God and others.

Eleanor was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Carmella (Mauro) Sica and her 11 siblings and their spouses: Antoinette (Louis) Antonelli, Jennie (Joseph) Muoio, Gerald (Jane) Sica, Rafaela Sica, Mary (Philip) Dattilo, Vincent (Ruth) Sica, Anthony (Anne) Sica, Joseph (Connie) Sica, Marguerite (Anthony) Peralta, Helen Sica and Albert (Mary) Sica; and her granddaughter, Meredith Elaine Niger.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Clorinda (Robert) Rohr, Anthony (Susan Darron) and James (Judy Hughes); her eight grandchildren and their spouses: Christopher (Kate) Villareale, Andrew (Tamara) Villareale, Sarah (Matthew) Houck, Angela Vittori, Theresa (Gia Lioi) Luciano, Nicole (Jacob) Smith, Lauren (Joseph) Hynes and Joseph Darron; her eight great grandchildren: Owen Villareale, Hailey and Morgan Hadfield, Luca and Dante Luciano, Corinne Smith, Maybelene and Scarlett Hynes as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, especially the Iorio family. A truly heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Ann’s Community, especially those on the 5th Floor, for the exceptional care given to our beloved Mother.

Thank you, Rochester Cremation, for your help and care with our arrangements.
