Elisabeth Affolter, born October 9, 1930 in Solothurn, Switzerland peacefully passed away April 21, 2024 surrounded by her children. Survived by her husband of 69 years, Peter Affolter, children, Susanne (David Burski), Markus ((Stephanie), grandchildren Bailey, Brody, Eleri Andersen (Josh), and great grandchildren, Asher and Iris; Heather Maynard, Arnold Baas, and Sophia Maynard-Baas, and nephews in Switzerland.
Growing up in Switzerland, Elisabeth enjoyed the relationship with her three older brothers, school, skiing, hiking, mountaineering and the nature which surrounded her. From the early days to the present, she enjoyed life, continuous learning and was interested in varied activities. She shared her kind and loving countenance with family, many friends and acquaintances. Truly a wonderful person.
A celebration of Elisabeth’s life will be held at St. John’s Brickstone on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 2:30 pm. Everyone who was touched by Elisabeth’s life is welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
