Faith R. Connors

d. November 2, 2020

Rochester, NY: Faith R. Connors, 89, peacefully passed away the early hours of November 2, 2020.

Faith is predeceased by her former husband and father of their nine children, Arthur J. Connors.  Faith is survived by her half-sister, Sue Hickey of Boston, MA and her cousin, Marion Sardaro of Norwalk, CT.

Faith is the beloved mother of 9 children, Christopher (Heidi) of Venetta, OR; Mary (John) Meyer of Rochester, NY; Joan (Kevin) Hansston of Sparta, IL; Melanie (Richard) Synakowski of Cleveland, SC; Jonathan (Marybeth) of Rochester, NY; Damien of Livonia, NY; Laurean (Duane) Pelkey of Madrid, NY; Suzanne (Arthur) Straub of Rochester, NY; David (Teresa) of Rush, NY; Faith was also a cherished grandmother to 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Faith was born March 31, 1931 in Greenwich, CT, daughter of the late Effie Benedict and Hendrick Livingston.  She earned her Nursing degree from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY and worked as a Registered Nurse.

She was a dedicated and active member of the Roman Catholic Church and gave generously to various charitable organizations.  Faith was well read, informed regarding current events and loved the arts. She loved classical music, especially opera and would often sing along to opera while cooking or cleaning.

Most of all, Faith loved her family and instilled in her children her strong values.  Faith was committed to family dinners together, thus the dining room table served as the classroom for etiquette and table manners on an almost daily basis.    A lover of animals, she often adopted a rescue, stray or neglected pet.  She was a conservationist, teaching the importance of repurposing and recycling years before it became common practice.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting, volunteering at church, helping friends by driving them to various appointments, reading, and completing New York Times crossword puzzles.

Faith, an intelligent, faithful, compassionate, loving, giving mother and friend will be profoundly missed.
