Frederick T. Heath

Frederick T. Heath, 85 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frederick T. Heath, 85, on January 5th. Frederick was a loving father, brother, and a dedicated member of his community.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Sue, and his brother, Donald. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberlee (Kevin) Overdyk, and his sister, Anne.

Frederick’s life was marked by his strong faith, his service to others, and his devotion to his family. A proud member of the Catholic Church, he spent much of his career as an Operating Room Nursing Assistant at St. Joseph’s Hospital. His compassionate nature extended beyond his work in healthcare. Frederick was also a proud member of the Mattydale Fire Department, where he contributed to his community with dedication and care.

Frederick’s love for his family led him to make a significant move to Abilene, Texas, to help care for his mother during her final years. There, he worked in various capacities, including at American Airlines, Hertz Rental Car, and Abilene State Supported Living. Later, he continued his career in New York as a security guard at Crouse Hospital, the NYS Workers Compensation Board, and the Forensic Science Center.

Frederick retired early in 2001 to care for his beloved wife, Sue, until her passing. His selfless devotion to her and his family will always be remembered.

Fred was a veteran of US Air Force having served during the Korean War.

Celebration of Life will be held at Mattydale Fire Department 173 E Molloy Rd, Mattydale NY 13211 on February 22, 2025, from 10am to 12noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frederick’s honor to Maple City Rehab activities Dept 434 Monroe Ave, Hornell, NY 14843 or Mattydale Fire Department in Frederick’s honor.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
