Gabriele Schaufler was born in Dusseldorf, Germany on October 9th, 1945 to her late parents, Heinz and Mathilde Huegen. Gabriele, who loved life and travel, left that life on September 20th, 2023 after complications from years of Alzheimers and COPD. With her to say farewell were her family: Husband Frank Schaufler of forty years, their daughter Nadiya Hedges, son-in-law Owen, grandson Ethan Hedges, and grand daughter, Jennie Lynch.
Gabriele will always be remembered for her kindness to others, feisty outspoken personality and enjoying life to its fullest. She was loved and respected for her work ethic and camaraderie by almost everyone she called friends, co-workers and acquaintances.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the professionalism and care of the staff of The Hamilton Manor, Unity Hospital’s ICU and the Hildebrandt Hospice Center who assisted Gabriele with comfort and care throughout her last six months.
No plans for a memorial service have been set at this time.
