Irondequoit, NY – Passed away at home after a long illness on Friday January 14, 2022, age 62. Predeceased by his father, George II and sister Susan Miglioratti. Survived by wife Marielle and son George IV; mother Lorraine Evershed Ziegler; sisters Kathy Cromwell, Anne (Greg) Lightenburger, Judy (Bill) Bradburn, and Cheryl Jones (Gary Straus); beloved nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
George joined the Navy after high school. He was stationed on the USS Nimitz and was the ship’s photographer during the Iranian hostage rescue attempt in 1980. After the Navy, he worked at Kodak. George enjoyed traveling and hockey and excelled at his hobbies of photography and woodworking.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned.
