Gladys C. Guy passed away on June 14, 2022, at age 99. Gladys is predeceased by her husband, Michael; son in law, Al Bruno and great grandson, Caleb Martino. She is survived by her daughters: Meta Bruno and Josephine (John) Gebhardt; grandson, Michael Cahill; granddaughter, Karen Martino; great grandsons: Spencer and Evan Cahill; many nieces & nephews; countless family & friends who loved her dearly.
Gladys was born in Canajoharie, NY on February 28, 1923. Her mother was Meta Chest (Avenarious), her father, James Chest. She was the last surviving member of a Family of Eight.
Gladys was an accomplished tuba player; studied at “Juliard”, in New York City. She was a retiree of Rochester Telephone; a member of the “Pioneers”. Also, Gladys was a “World Wide Winner – in Penmanship”, actually winning first prize!
She was known for her beautiful and loving ways to all her family and friends, and will be dearly missed. Funeral arrangements are private. Please send donations, in her memory, to the “American Heart Association”, St Judes Hospital or Rochester’s “Open Door Mission”.
