Glynis Janine Valenti

d. October 25, 2024

We are saddened to announce the passing of Glynis Janine Valenti, 64, of Rochester, New York. Glynis was born on January 13, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio to her parents, William and Orla Ault and passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024 after being reassured by her family that her beloved rescue dog, Olive, was being adopted by a loving family. She is survived by her brother, Darrell Ault, her niece Danielle (Eric) Parham, and nephew, Jason Ault. To know Glynis was to love her. She was a kind, creative, soft spoken soul with a very wide stubborn streak that was always ready and willing to help any person or animal. She was always actively taking in animals that needed a home, as far away as Ohio to New York. Glynis had a talent and professionalism in writing and photography that she shared with the community in The Wedge newspaper and her website and blog, Art Soul Wine. Each year, her friends and family were blessed to receive her photographs in Christmas greetings and they are treasured by all. During her career in New York, Glynis assisted NEAD, the North East Area Development, in developing a friendly, well kept community to be proud of. Glynis was also the executive director of the South Wedge Planning Committee where her passion was to shine light on to the best parts of Rochester and bring people together.
Glynis loved her family and friends immensely. She believed in the power of positive thinking and spreading kindness and love to all those around her. She found beauty in the ordinary and sought to capture those things in her photographs. She loved being by the water, as evidenced by her years spent both in Cannon Beach, Oregon and the Irondequoit Bay in New York. Other than the water, one of her favorite places to be was in the rolling hills of eastern Ohio, near where she grew up surrounded by aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
