Greece, NY – May 7, 2018. Hansford “Marshall” Starling, Jr. went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 7, 2018. He passed peacefully at home following a prolonged illness. He was the business owner of HM Starling Painting for many years until his retirement in 2013. He was an Army veteran that served in Vietnam. He was also known by many around the WNY region as a lay minister and the head of the Starling Family Singers. In his retirement, he resumed his passion for artistic painting and created well over 100 pieces of art over the last few years.
He is predeceased by his father, Hansford M. Starling, his mother, Juneith (Sills), his sister, Melinda Bell and his eldest son, Hansford “Hans” M. Starling III.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Beverly (Rowley) Starling and daughters, Sara Starling and Rebecca (Paula) Starling-Jones. He is also survived by his children from a previous marriage, Troy, Grace, Randall and Darren.
Additionally, he leaves behind a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially Joshua, Kristi, Caleb, Penny, Alyiah, Nathen, Da’Marcus and Hansford M. Starling IV.
He is also survived by his sister, Judith Mueller, sisters-in-law, Carol Schwartz and Joyce (Arthur) Shoemaker and numerous nieces and nephews.
