Rochester, NY: Sunrise April 1936, Sunset December 17, 2019. Predeceased by his parents, son Harry, and sisters Kathy and Betty. He is survived by his wife/companion of 40 years Diane, daughters Cynthia (Raymond) Bahr, Sandra Rapp and his grandchildren Samantha and Nathan Bahr, beloved pets Rosie and Pugsie, three sisters/spouse, many nieces and nephews, and first wife Carolyn Rapp.
Harry was born and raised in Charlotte. Harry loved life and was known to be a bit mischievous at times. Luckily Harry decided to serve in the Army, much to his mother’s relief, after high school. After discharge, he returned to Rochester and began work at Kodak as a pipefitter. Several years later he decided to start his own plumbing company, Dausch Plumbing. He was a consummate worker and wasn’t happy unless he had one project or another to keep himself busy; even after retirement. Harry was known to be particular in his work and he shared his knowledge of the trade with the next generation. He also was generous to help his family time and time again with their home projects.
Harry believed in enjoying life to the fullest. He loved his Happy Hour, naps, going out to dinner, and home projects. His first vacation home was in Old Forge, New York, where he did a remodel and made a seasonal cabin into a year-round home. From there he went to New Smyrna Beach, Florida and bought multiple homes to renew. Once he was content with his retirement/vacation home in Florida, he chose Blind Sodus Bay and began another project. Harry was known to always be jotting down ideas on his pad of paper, sketching out the next project whether it was his home, one of his kids’ homes or some other project he was thinking about. He enjoyed spending his retirement years down in New Smyrna Beach, Florida; eventually adopting a snowbird lifestyle. His family will remember his kind heart, generosity, support and the love he displayed for them. He will be missed by many.
Services will occur in the spring. Donations may be sent to Wilmot Cancer Institute or Hornell Humane Society.
