Herbert E. Bartzsch

Rochester, NY:  Herbert Ernst Bartzsch, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Herbert was born on September 4, 1936 in Güsten, Germany to Ernst & Martha Bartzsch. Herbert married his wife Inge in 1960 and were married 57 years. Herbert, often called “Herb” or “Herbie” loved to garden, play and watch soccer, swim, and play golf with friends. Herb loved to attend German festivals and events and was known as a wonderful dancer. Herb had an inevitable way of making each person he was around smile and laugh. Herbert is survived by his wife, Inge, sister Edith, sister-in-law Sabine, his son Glenn and daughter-in-law Kristen, his daughter Karen and son-in-law Charlie, and 7 adoring grandchildren: Justin, Casey, Hannah, Kyle, Lauren, Kamryn, and Garrett. Predeceased relatives include his brother Hans, of Germany.  Herbert was a special man and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please kindly consider donating to the American Diabetes Association of Rochester in memory of Herb.  A private family service will take place this Sunday, September 24th .
