Jacque Clements, Rochester native and life-long working artist, passed away Thursday 8/15/2019. Born on May 5,1925, Jack attended West High School and as a young man worked as a lifeguard at Charlotte beach and various public pools. As a child his family introduced him to the St. Lawrence River area, and he maintained a fascination and love for the region throughout his life. After retiring from the NYS Highway dept. as a surveyor, he attended RIT and received an MFA Degree in 1967. He went on to teach Art at MCC in Rochester, serving for a time as Chairman of the Art Dept. Jack touched the lives of many, both on a personal and professional level. He often served as a mentor and his curiosity and quest for an understanding of Art was inspiring. He will be remembered for his impact on others as well as his prolific volume of work, including paintings, sculpture and wooden carvings.

Jacque is survived by his wife of 48 years Tarrant(fellow artist), his daughter Jackie,( Dave LaMora, Cape Vincent,NY), and two grandsons, Justin (Seattle Wash.) and Andy(LaFargeville, NY).

An informal gathering will be held on Monday (8/19) 4-6p.m. at the Phillips Fine Art and Frame at 1115 East Main Street, Door 9, The Hungerford, Rochester, NY. In lieu of flowers donations made to Lolly Pop Farm, or Memorial Art Gallery.
