James Berry 1952 ~ 2023
James Arthur Berry, age 70, was called Home on March 1st, 2023 at his home in Fairport, New York after a brief battle with prostate cancer.
Faithful to God and his family until the very end, he passed peacefully into the eternal presence of his Savior while surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife Susan, two sons Justin & Christopher, 3 grandchildren, & sister Barbara Paulsen.
James was born on November 27th, 1952 to Arthur and Erma Berry. He grew up on a rural farm just outside of Erie, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Harbor Creek High School, he attended a Billy Graham revival service where he accepted Jesus as his Savior. A 6 year veteran of the US Navy, he received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Gannon University & met his wife Susan shortly thereafter while attending a church bible study group.
James took pride in his family and together with Susan, they raised two sons together in the quiet suburb of Fairport, New York. He was a devoted father and husband who took great delight in his 3 grandchildren & they will miss their grandpa tremendously. However, we take comfort in the fact that because of the hope we have in Jesus that this is not a goodbye but a “see you later”; James’ body & mind are whole again & he is “finally Home”.
James’ life celebration ceremony will be held on June 3rd at 1pm at Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church on 48 S Estate Dr, Webster, New York.
