Rochester, NY: Janice Lynne “Jan” Wemett, age 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Jan was born on June 16, 1941, in Rochester, NY, to Howard and Irene (Aab) Hutchins. She is predeceased by her husband John William “Bill” Wemett whom she married on May 26, 1962. Together they had four children: Steve (Kerri) Wemett, Jim Wemett, Debbie (Jim) Garnham, and Beth Wemett; and three grandchildren, Josh (Maggie) Wemett, Sam (Sarah) Wemett, and Colin Garnham. Jan is survived by one sister, Dea (Don) Moffitt, and sisters-in-law, Ann Wemett, Dottie Wemett, and predeceased by sister-in-law Pat Bulger. Jan is also survived by many nieces and nephew: David (Heather) Moffitt, Deborah (Aaron) Torp, Marie Wemett, Robin Stewart, Tracy (Cory Potter) Wemett, and several grand nieces and nephews.
Jan loved her Lord and Savior above all things, but loved her family and friends dearly as well. She enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with her family, mission work in Hungary and Germany, but truly lost her heart in South Africa. Jan was beloved by so many across the globe and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on July 10th at 2:00pm at Webster Bible Church, 675 Holt Road, Webster, NY 14580.
