Jay D. Hulbert – October 19, 2021, suddenly at the too early age of 67. Jay is pre-deceased by his parents, Jerry and Donna Hulbert. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 43 years, Christine. Loving children – daughter Kara Heald (Tom) and son Brendan Hulbert (Carolina). Grandchildren whom he adored Estelle, Liam and Nathaniel.
He leaves behind a sister Kathleen Arent as well as 3 sisters-in-law, and 4 brothers-in-law. 6 nephews and 4 nieces along with 2 great nieces and one great nephew.
Jay was born on December 21,1953 in Rochester, NY. Jay worked at General Motors and retired from there in 2002. He then entered into another career at the United States Post Office. He was a machine mechanic there and just retired in April 2021.
Anyone that knew Jay loved and adored him, he was the person everyone could rely on. If anything was broken, they knew to call Jay if they needed help with something, they knew to call Jay. He could fix anything and everything – and did so without ever asking for anything in return. You could mention something to him and before you knew it it was already fixed, without even asking and he didn’t even tell you he did it, you just knew who it was.
Jay loved the outdoors and respected it greatly. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Many favorite times were those spent in the Adirondack Mountains in the Lake George and Schroon Lake Region. He spent many summers there as a child which continued on into his adulthood and married life with his own family. His love for the outdoors and nature was passed down to his children. He was also a car enthusiast and enjoyed restoring classic cars.
Jay was taken way too soon; he will be forever with us and in our hearts.
