Rochester, NY – Jennifer Strasser, loving wife and mother, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 3, 2023. Jennifer is survived by her husband Lance and their son Connor, of Churchville, NY.
Jennifer is survived by her parents, Susan and Arvo Rautine, of Spencer, NY, her sister Tanya, and niece Arika and nephew Ty. She is also survived by her Aunt Annette and cousin Elizabeth, Aunt Christine and cousins Amy and Ryan, and Aunt Linda and cousins Amy and Maria (children Oscar Jr. and Briana) and other family and caring friends.
Jennifer is also survived by family through marriage, in-laws Arden (Susan), Heidi (Brian) and Richard (Anne), and their children. She is predeceased by her grandparents Edna and Eino Alve of Spencer, NY, and her Aunt Lynn.
Jennifer was born and raised in Spencer, NY. She graduated from Spencer-Van Etten High School, 1983, where she played field hockey.
In 1993, Jennifer graduated from Binghamton University with a BS in Nursing. Over the years, Jennifer worked as a nurse with specializations in oncology and cardiac critical care at Syracuse University Hospital, NY; Beth Israel Hospital, New York, NY; and Hackensack University Medical Center, NJ. Most recently, Jennifer was employed at Wegmans corporate offices in Rochester, NY in their quality control department.
In her youth, Jennifer enjoyed fashion, exploring New York City museums, sporty cars (owning a ’68 Chevy Camaro for a few years), her pets, and cherished her childhood dachshund, she named Baby. More recently she delighted in her two cats, Sterling and Lexi. Jennifer loved family gatherings and vacations, gardening, and especially enjoyed family trips to the beaches in San Diego and her Aunt Anette’s in Rhode Island.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
