Joan E. Seehafer

August 18, 1931 — April 7, 2025

Victor, NY

Joan E. Seehafer

On April 7th at 7:10am, Mom gained her angel wings to join her parents, husband, relatives and dear friends who departed before her. Donna and I had the honor and privilege to be by her side as she took her last breath.

Mom was born to Harry and Blanche Gilbert on 08/18/31. She graduated with a teaching degree from Geneseo College and taught at Livonia Central for several years before working at Eastman Kodak and eventually head of the volunteers at Thompson Hospital.

She was smart, beautiful and talented and strong willed. In her later years, she enjoyed making jewelry, watching golf, the Buffalo Bills and still trying to shop at Talbots.

She is survived by daughters, Debbie (Jerry) Valentine of Murrells Inlet SC; Donna (Ted) Goodwin of Naples, NY. Grandsons, Shaun (Meredith) Goodwin of Marquette, Michigan; Matt (Autumn) Goodwin of Victor, NY; Jeff (Amanda Scheib) Valentine of Henderson, NV and Jared Valentine of Rochester, NY. Great grandsons, Kofi, Ari and Levy Goodwin and Cooper and Wyatt Valentine.

At her request, there are no calling hours. Donations may be made in her memory to Palliative Care at the University of Rochester Medical Center who cared for Mom and our family during this time.
