Rochester, NY: Juanita Bolton, (Nita) devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24 th , 2020 following a long battle with cancer. Like everything she took on, she fought the good fight with courage, dignity and a quiet belief in her God, whom she prayed to and cherished solemnly her whole life.
Bolton was born Warnell Givens in Brockton, Georgia. She and her two siblings Alberta and Jimmie (who have both passed on), had a hard-knock life right from the start. Abandoned by both parents (Jimmie & Blanche), she took on a hard-outer shell to ward off the many trials and tribulations that would later befall her. But beneath that stern exterior, lay a good, loving and giving woman.
A hard worker, she took pride in her years of service at Rochester Products and later Cape Canaveral and the Wilmorite Corporation. When she wasn’t working on the job, she was working at home; cooking, cleaning, decorating, reading, and engaging in political programs. A lover of music and movies, she took pride in her home and found solace and comfort in those past times. An impeccable dresser, she would later teach herself to sew and to use the computer. In fact, she was self-taught in most things and accomplished every task she set her mind to with the utmost precision and determination.
Above everything, Mrs. Bolton cherished her family and friends. She was the rock to her husband of more than fifty years, Charles G. Bolton. There were few times you would see one without the other. He reveled in being her shadow. More than anyone, he understood her and loved her unquestionably. He was at her bedside throughout her hospitalization and was beside her when she made her journey onward. Besides her husband, she was an inspiration to her children; Sammy, Wanda and Gloria (who preceded her in death), leaving them a legacy of courtesy, self-respect and dignity. Bolton leaves behind her immediate family; sisters Doreatha, Betty, Peggy, Marianne and Dorothy. Her loving friends Lucille and Benjamin Moore, Francis Barnes, Mary Wingate, Joyce and Larry Gilford and Jennifer Krause; her nephew Richard Johnson, her grandchildren; Kris Miller, Cedric Stamps and Aaron Miller and a host of good friends and kind neighbors. To all of you: she loved you dearly. She will truly be missed.
