Judy passed away this past Thursday, September 28 th , 2023, early in the morning, while it was very sudden, she thankfully was able to pass on very peacefully at the Hildebrandt Hospice Facility surrounded by her family. She is predeceased by Robert Hartman (Father), Virginia Hartman (Mother), Kirk Hartman (Brother), and Andrea Sweeney (Daughter). She is survived by Kate (Ashley) Sweeney (Daughter), Brandon Edick (grandson), Lily Sweeney (granddaughter), Barry Hartman (Brother), Jill Hartman (Sister), Bernadette Sweeney (Sister-in-law), Ethan (Stephanie) Sweeney (Nephew), Brad (Lucy) Downs-Hartman (Nephew), Meghan (Tim) Bentjen (Niece), and Brandon Bentjen (Great-Nephew) along with many other friends and family.
Judy was an artist and constantly creating anything from china painting to stained glass to basket weaving, making it so she even acquired a group of very close friends who would join her in doing her crafts, and even after 30 years they were still all very close. Judy also spent many years of her life working to help developmentally disabled children and adults. Judy loved decorating for every holiday of the year as well as every season, although her ultimate favorite and the one she went all out for was Christmas, she even went as far as keeping her tree up year round and just changing the main decorations on it so it would be fit for the season, she would also always have a Santa up somewhere all year round even if it seemed a bit hidden. At Christmas time she really enjoyed making gingerbread houses with her grandchildren as well as making her famous éclair cake for family and friends to enjoy.
Her celebration of life will be held Wednesday, October 4 th , 2023, at 3:00 pm at the Spencerport Volunteer Fireman’s Exempt Club (76 South Union Street) over by the canal a little past the Gazebo.
In lieu of flowers, it would be greatly appreciated to instead make a donation in Judy’s name to the Al Sigl Community of Agencies ( https://www.alsigl.org/donate/ ).
