Katherine Meicht

January 3, 1939 – January 25, 2025

Kathy Meicht passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025. She was predeceased by her sister Jeanne Beiter, son Gary Meicht Jr., and niece Suzanne Sansone. She is survived by her son Scott (Wendy) Halladay, daughter Karen (Monty) Meicht, grandchildren; Kellie (Bryan) Halladay, Brianna (Cody) Halladay, Jonah Mitchell, Mandolin Mitchell, nephew Mike (Heidi) Nadiak, and dear friend Barbara Cole, and dear friend Jim Zelazny.

Kathy was born in Rochester, NY on January 3, 1939 to the late Leonard Davidson and Margaret Karp. Kathy attended school in Rochester, NY. Following High School, she attended RBI. She loved animals and supervised a pet shop and volunteered at the Seneca Park Zoo for many years. She shared this love and respect for animals with her children who carry on this legacy. She had a passion for fashion and worked in that industry after the pet shop. She had a kind compassionate heart for those less fortunate than her. She raised three beautiful children with Gary Halladay. She was a loving Grandmommy to her grandchildren. She loved dancing and good music. She loved writing letters and was especially pleased with a written response from Jacqueline Kennedy. We will gather to celebrate her at Brockport Free Methodist Church on Friday, February 7th from 2:00 – 4:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her daughter’s animal sanctuary: Piece of Peace Animal Sanctuary at https://linktr.ee/pieceofpeaceanimalsanctuary or our local humane society: Lollypop Farm at lollypop.org
