Kathleen Ann Moyse (78) of Rochester, NY, sadly left us after a brief illness on Friday, March 8, 2024. Predeceased by parents Charles F. and Gladys W. Moyse, son Richard C. Dickerson, Brother-in-law Thomas C. DeRider. Loving partner of 23 years C.J. Hovey. Survived by son James M. Dickerson and wife Theresa, Daughter Debera and husband Kevin J. Mitchell, their children Tyler and triplets Nathan, Makayla and Lauren. Siblings Carol DeRider (partner Judy Koester) and Marilynn Moyse and her son Macintyre C. Moyse and wife Lindsay and their daughter Felicity E. Cousins Nancy Hicks and Linda and husband Ralph Henry.
Kathleen enjoyed her family tremendously and was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother.
Kathleen had many interests involving several friends, old and new who will miss her dearly. Activities involved scrapbooking weekends in Palmyra with Carol Childs and friends, once a month dinners at Charlie Brown’s restaurant in Penfield, Scrabble competition every Friday. Genealogy searches which took her with immediate family and cousins to Canada, England/Wales. She was also a long time member of Rainbow Seniors ROC.
Kathleen was a talented artist and was deemed “class artist” in high school and was winner of 3 Sibley’s art scholarships awards.
Kathleen was also interested in furthering her education and received degrees at several area colleges and universities. Her degrees were from MCC (Dual Associates), U of R Wharton School of Business (Bachelors), and SUNY Brockport (Masters). Hence, working at various institutions of higher learning (MCC and Nazareth University).
A graveside prayer time in her honor will take place on 5/11/2024 at 11:00 am at Grove Place cemetery in Chili, NY.
