Rochester, NY: On March 14, 2023, Kathryn Ann Conte took on wings and became free from the pain and suffering of Parkinson’s disease.
Born on February 25, 1948 into a family that fostered artistic creativity, Kathryn embraced the arts at an early age. During her lifetime this passion was expressed through many mediums including music (piano and singing) dancing, painting, silk screening, sewing, ceramics, photography, knitting, beading and finally culminating in the fiber arts – particularly quilting. Kathryn, a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy HS (1966) went on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in the arts from Nazareth College (1970) as well as a Master’s degree in education. She taught art at the elementary and high school levels and was instrumental in bringing the arts to the Raleigh Durham, NC. community.
Kathryn is predeceased by her mother and father Sadie (Liebert) and Joseph Conte. She will be dearly missed by her surviving husband Raoul LeFebvre – children, Benjamin Aitken (Heidi), Claire Aitken (Matt), Moriah LeFebvre, Raven LeFebvre and Rainer LeFebvre – grandchildren Sarah, Hannah, Gavin and Garrett – brothers and sister, Donald Conte (Rosanna), Joseph Conte (Maria) and Mary Manuel (Garry) – many nieces, nephews, cousins and faithful, lifelong friend, Kate Weisskopf.
We are very grateful to the staff at St. John’s Home who cared for Kathryn in her last year of life.
